Two fun OKTOBERFESTS in Jersey City Thursday...

Both events Thursday October 7th…

The Fifth Annual Jersey City Oktoberfest and parade is free and open to the public. Food and beverages available for purchase. Authentic bier garten, oompah band, German cuisine and women in Bavarian costumes. Sponsored by Bar Majestic and the Silverman development company.

275 Grove Street, two blocks south of Grove PATH Station. 4 pm: parade. 4 pm to midnight: Oktoberfest party.

Oktoberfest at the Culinary Conference Center at Hudson County Community College. An evening of food and beer tastings, $30 per person. Discussion of beer making. Foods on menu from executive chef Rick Low include potato pancakes, pickled herring, smoked loin of pork, bratwurst sliders, wiener schnitzel, Bavarian pretzels, apple/raisin strudel. Beers from Cricket Hill (NJ), New Jersey Beer Company (Hudson County), Beach House Pilsner (Point Pleasant).
