7/23: A Summer Beer Festival in Paddock Park will be held at Meadowlands Racetrack, 50 Rt 120, East Rutherford. This all-you-can-sample beer tasting includes Long Trail, Leinenkugel, Saranac, Thomas Hooker, Victory, Ithaca, and Wolaver’s, plus many more. 7/24: The Foodshed Alliance, along with Alba Vineyard, will host a five-course al fresco Farm to Fork dinner at Alba Vineyard, 269 Rt 627, Milford. The event, to benefit the Foodshed Alliance, will begin with an assortment of passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a dinner of locally sourced food paired with wine, prepared by the following chefs: Andre de Waal of Andre’s Restaurant and Wine Boutique in Newton, Dan Rothman of Whole Foods in Northern New Jersey, Mike Carrino of Restaurant Passionné in Montclair, Dan Richer of Arturo’s in Maplewood, and James Laird of Restaurant Serenade in Chatham. 4 PM; $125. 7/28 to 7/31: The Food Network Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival will be held at Harrah’s Resort, Caesars, Showboat, and Bally’s in Atlantic City, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Susan G. 7/30: A farmers’ market and wine tasting will be held at Meadowlands Racetrack, 50 Rt 120, East Rutherford. 5 to 10:30 PM; wine tasting includes an unlimited sampling of locally produced wines for $18. Call 201-843-2446 for reservations.

8/18: A Mid-Summer Crab Feast will be held at the Elan, 111 Rt 46 W, Lodi, to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Lodi. The all-you-can-eat, sit-down, family-style menu includes appetizers, Dungeness crab, roasted potato salad, grilled corn on the cob, coleslaw, jalapeno cornbread, homemade doughnuts, seasonal fruit salad, wine, and beer. 6 to 8 PM; adults $54.95, teenagers $44.95, children ages five to twelve $39.95; plus tax and 20 percent gratuity. 8/20 and 8/21: The Fifth Annual Crab Cake Festival & Shore Chef Cook-Off will be held at Monmouth Park, 175 Oceanport Ave, Oceanport. The event will feature New Jersey crab cakes and seafood from NJ restaurants, with chefs competing for Best Crab Cake and Best of the Rest. Along with thoroughbred racing there will be live entertainment and crafts to buy. Noon to 5 PM; $3 grandstand admission allows admission to the Cook-Off area. Advance tickets are not required, and food prices will range from $5 to $15.
