The Garden State Cake Show will be held at Burlington Township Middle School at Springside, 1600 Burlingon Bypass, Burlington, to benefit the Burlington Township Food Pantry. The event will offer classes, cake competitions, vendors, demos, and more. Ages twelve and up: $10 for one day/$15 for both, or $5 plus two canned goods for one day/$10 plus four canned goods for both days. Ages four to eleven: $2 for one day/$3 for both days. Ages three and under are free.

SATURDAY, MARCH 10, AND SUNDAY, MARCH 11

SUNDAY, MARCH 11
The United Way of Greater Union County and the Cranford Community Council will host the Third Annual Taste of Cranford at the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Ave, to benefit Cranford Family Care, which offers support to the people in the town after flooding from Hurricane Irene. 5 to 7:30 PM; $35 in advance, $40 at the door. A Belmar Restaurant Tour will be held at more than 25 of the town’s establishments. Diners can ride through Belmar on a jitney and sample dishes at participating restaurants. 11 AM to 5 PM; $30 in advance, $35 on the day of the event. MONDAY, MARCH 12
A cooking class, All-New Soups and Sauces, will be held at Andre’s Restaurant & Wine Boutique, 188 Spring St, Newton. 6:30 PM; $65 including three-course meal, wine, and lecture/demonstration. Call 973-300-4192.

THURSDAY, MARCH 15
A beer tasting dinner will be held at the Pluckemin Inn, 359 Rt 206 S, Bedminster. Call 908-658-9292.

Psychic medium Craig McManus will speak at a three-course channeling dinner paired with wines at the 76 House, 110 Main St, Tappan. 7 PM; $70. Call 845-359-5476.

FRIDAY, MARCH 16
A class on the Great Wine Regions of Italy led by GM/wine director Jim Mullen will be held at the Frog and the Peach, 29 Dennis St, New Brunswick. $55 for one class, $130 for three (the others are on March 23 and 30). $235 for all three classes and a dinner on April 14, and $125 for dinner only on April 14. The Cape May Forum and Slow Food South Jersey Shore will host a five-course Forum on the Green: A Farm-to-Table Dinner at Congress Hall, 251 Beach Ave, Cape May, with a menu created by executive chef Lucas Manteca of the Ebbitt Room using ingredients from Beach Plum Farm and other local sources. A complimentary glass of local wine will be offered with dinner, and there will be a cash bar. 6 PM; $50, with proceeds to benefit the Cape May Forum and Slow Food South Jersey Shore (a tax-deductible donation receipt of $25 will be given for each ticket).
