SUNDAY, AUGUST 5
A two-hour Wines of Burgundy tasting class will be held in the Napa Room at the Crystal Springs Clubhouse, Crystal Springs Country Club, Hardyston, followed by a tour of the resort’s 135,000-bottle Wine Spectator award–winning cellar. 2:30 to 4:30 PM; $30, social members $25. Chef André de Waal from André’s Restaurant in Newton will be presenting a six-course meal including sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-inspired dishes at Salt Studio, 109 Rt 206, Andover. A mix of traditional and nontraditional dishes will be presented using local and imported ingredients. Seats will be sold on the half hour between 5:30 and 7:30; $75 with an optional beverage pairing for $30, including cocktails, beer, and sake; tax and gratuity are extra. A three-course murder-mystery dinner, “A Very Noir Pinot or Sour Grapes,” by local playwright Jeanne-Andree Nelson, will be held at the Palm Restaurant, 2801 Pacific Ave, Quarter at Tropicana Casino and Resort, Atlantic City. 5:30 PM; $75 plus beverage, tax, and service charge. TUESDAY, AUGUST 7
A wine class, The Noblest White…Riesling or Chardonnay?, will be held at 55 Main Restaurant, 55 Main St, Flemington, and taught by George Staikos, a wine educator, sommelier, and corporate speaker. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8
A Californian wine tasting will be held at La Tavola Cucina Ristorante, 700 Old Bridge Tpk, South River. 7 PM; $40 plus tax and gratuity. Includes tastings of red and white wines, a lecture, and a buffet dinner. Reservations: 732-238-2111.

A craft beer tasting will be held at the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern, 1 E Franklin Tpk, Ho-Ho-Kus. The event includes tastings of three or four craft beers and passed hors d’oeuvres. 6 PM; $20. Participants are welcome to stay and have dinner after the event. Reservations: 201-445-4155.
