SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 8 AND SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 9
The Feast of San Gennaro at the Jersey Shore, presented by Nicchio Ristorante, Belmar, will be held between 10th and 12th avenues on Main Street in Belmar to benefit the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean counties. The event will feature Italian foods, wines, activities, and the traditional procession of the statue of San Gennaro. Saturday 11 AM to 10 PM; Sunday, Noon to 6 PM. SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 8 TO TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 11
The Riverdale Art Center will host “The Art of Food Festival” with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and its Food Service Training Academy to prepare elegant dinners at the Glenburn Estate, 211 Hamburg Turnpike, Riverdale. This event will feature a gourmet dinner on September 8 and September 10,  6 to 9 PM and September 11, from 7 to 9:30 PM, and a barbecue on Sunday, September 9, 1 to 4 PM. Chefs include: Peter Bernstein of Berta’s Chateau in Wanaque; Michael Latour of Latour in Ridgewood; and Michael Madigan of Snails and Quails Catering. Students from the Food Service Training Academy will work with a different local executive chef each day to help prepare and serve these meals. Tickets for the dinners are $75; $35 for the barbecue. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9
A Walk Around Wine Tasting with hors d’oeuvres will be held at Oasis Farm, 89 Sleepy Hollow Road, Middleton, to benefit Impact Oasis, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote inclusion and acceptance of autistic individuals in their communities by establishing farm centers that provide meaningful work, peaceful and healthy residences, and community interaction. Executive chef Nicholas Harary from Restaurant Nicholas in Middletown will hold the tasting and 15 percent of all wine purchased will be donated to Impact OASIS. A four-course wine pairing dinner with Bar Cara in Bloomfield will be held at Fascino Restaurant 331 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair with winemaker Nicholas Audebert, of Cheval des Andes. 7 PM; $110 per person plus tax and gratuity. The $60 food portion of the bill will be paid to Fascino on the night of the event. The wine portion is $50, and must be paid in advance to Bar Cara. Call Fascino at 973-233-0350 for a reservation. Creative Heartwork, an organization that utilizes the power of the arts to heal children who have experienced trauma, loss, serious illness, or disabilities, will hold a fundraiser at Ninety Acres Culinary Center, 2 Main St, Peapack.
