Restaurant News: Catch Me on Radio!

I can't resist telling you that I will be a guest on Pat Tanner's new radio show, Dining Today, this Sunday, November 3. Now, on to news of The Iron Room in Atlantic City, a Wild Game dinner at the Beard House in NYC, culinary events at the Borgata in Atlantic City and much more.

DINING TODAY, WITH HOST PAT TANNER

Pat’s show will air from 2 to 3 PM on AM 920, The Voice. You can hear it in Central NJ, Bucks County, Philadelphia or on the Internet at 920thevoice.com.

Chris Walsh of River Horse Brewing will be Pat’s other guest for the premiere of her weekly one-hour show, which focuses on food and dining in the Garden State.

For six years, Pat hosted a popular one-hour weekly program covering NJ food and dining on Nassau Broadcasting’s WHWH, until that station went off the air. In 2012, Nassau was bought by Connoisseur Media, which owns WPST (94.5 FM), and two AM stations. Starting in November, one of those AM stations, 920 The Voice, will feature community-based talk on weekends, including Dining Today.

As before, Pat will interview Jersey’s culinary movers and shakers. A regular restaurant reviewer for New Jersey Monthly, Pat will share her latest finds, as well as those of her guests. For a sense of what to expect, visit her website, dinewithpat.com.

BLUE PLATE, MULLICA HILL WINS NATURE’S PLATE CONTEST
Congratulations to Blue Plate, 47 S Main St, Mullica Hill (856-478-2112), the winner in The Nature Conservancy’s Nature’s Plate contest for sustainable restaurants in NJ. Blue Plate works with farms within a 20 minute drive, promotes the purchase and support of local farmers and food artisans, and promotes the enjoyment of eating just-picked produce. The Nature Conservancy launched this contest in September asking for nominations of green restaurants for Nature’s Plate, a second annual people’s choice contest. The organization works with farmers on sustainability projects including implementing eco-friendly drip irrigation methods and planting wild pollinator habitat to help bees and increase crop yields, and with partners in the Delaware River and Bay to protect, restore and maintain functioning ecosystems that many fish rely upon.
