EXECUTIVE CHEF JOSH THOMSEN, AGRICOLA
Congratulations to owner Jim Nawn and executive chef/partner Josh Thomsen of Agricola, 11 Witherspoon St, Princeton as they recently celebrated their first anniversary with a party that raised $2,000 for Mercer Street Friends Food Bank. Agricola has been getting rave reviews including being listed as New Jersey Monthly’s top 25 restaurants and named as one of the country’s Top 10 New Restaurants by Gayot.com. Chef Thomsen, originally from Woodcliff Lake, received a Rising Star award in the San Francisco Bay Area by Star Chefs in 2010 and has worked under chef Thomas Keller at the French Laundry in Yountville, CA, as well at Tao in the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. Owner Jim Nawn has the 112-acre Great Road Farm in Skillman, which provides much of the produce for the restaurant. After all, Agricola, means farmer in Latin. Reservations: 609-921-2798.

BRYAN GREGG OWNER/CHEF OF ESCAPE, MONTCLAIR

Bryan Gregg, chef/owner of Escape at 345 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair has announced that he is launching a special three-course vegetarian menu for $29 on Mondays in an effort to support the popular meatless Monday movement. Their standard menu will also be available.

Gregg, a native of Pittsburgh and graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts has previously worked at the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn and Michael Anthony’s in Jersey City. Reservations: 973-744-0712; BYO.
