COOKING CLASSES WITH CHEF NUNZIO PATRUNO
Beginning in May and going through the summer, Chef Nunzio Patruno, owner of Nunzio Ristorante Rustico, 706 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood will host “Cooking with Nunzio – Field to Nunzio’s Table” event at his restaurants demonstration kitchen complete with large mirrors. Classes will include a tour of the Collingswood Farmers Market where ingredients for the lesson will be purchased, the cooking lesson and a luncheon to enjoy what was prepared during the class. Guests are encouraged to bring along a bottle of wine to enhance this unique cooking and dining experience.

The following classes each with its own unique theme that takes advantage of the market’s best provisions will be offered:

Saturday May 10 – Vegetable Delights
Saturday May 17 – Seasonal Market Greens & Grains
Saturday May 31 – Seaside Recipes for Seafood and Vegetables
Saturday June 7 – Grilling Local

10 AM; $50 includes ingredients, cooking lesson, and luncheon. To register for a class visit the restaurant website or call 856-858-9840.

Chef Nunzio has received many awards and top reviews including Top Chef of South Jersey, Best BYOB, Golden Fork Award by South Jersey Magazine, and recognitions in the New York Times and Philadelphia Magazine. Born and raised in the Puglia region of Italy, he also owns Ombra Cucina Rustica in Hilton Head Island, SC.

TIM HAMILL AT THE WATER STAR GRILLE, STONE HARBOR
Tim Hamill is the new executive chef at The Water Star Grille at The Reeds at Shelter Haven, 9601 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor (609-368-0100). Hamill previously worked at Stephen Starr Restaurants and The One Group’s STK restaurants in New York City. A new shared menu concept can be accompanied by specialty drink pitchers from the bar. Some menu items include: seafood lobster mac & cheese; Asian chicken salad; Kobe beef sliders; scallops; salmon; grilled chicken; fish & chips; rock shrimp pad Thai; dark chocolate layer cake filled with chocolate ganache; chocolate chocolate chip cookie; and milk chocolate raspberry semifreddo. Boaters can dock at the Water Star Grille and large party reservations and prefix menus for parties of 10 or more guests are available.

CHEF DANA COHEN
Chef Dana Cohen, previously from Vero Farms in River Vale and the Viking Culinary Center in Fairfield has been named the new culinary director and executive chef of Le Gourmet Factory, 176A South Van Brunt Street, Englewood (855- 408-2665). Le Gourmet Factory conducts cooking classes, and hosts corporate events and parties. Cohen, a graduate of the CIA, was a finalist on Season 10 of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX-TV.
