NJ CHEFS AT THE BEARD HOUSE, NYC
August will be a busy month for the following NJ chefs, who will be presenting at the James Beard House, 167 W. 12 St in New York City.

On Wednesday, August 6, a Jersey Summer Bounty dinner will be held with Kirk Avondoglio, Perona Farms, Andover; Brian Bagley, Perona Farms, Andover; Bradley Boyle, Salt, Byram; Andre de Waal, Dre’s, Newton; and Florian Wehrli, Triomphe, Iroquois, NYC.

On Monday, August 11, Josh Thomsen, executive chef of Agricola in Princeton and farmer Steve Tomlinson of Great Road Farm in Skillman will present a Rustic Farmhouse Rendezvous dinner.

Both dinners start at 7 PM and are $170 for the public and for $130 for members. Reservations: 212-627-2308.

RON MORGAN NAMED GM AND CHRISTOPHER JAMES NAMED HEAD BARTENDER AT JOCKEY HOLLOW BAR AND KITCHEN, MORRISTOWN

NYC restaurateur Chris Cannon has named Ron Morgan general manager of Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen in Morristown. Ron is a seasoned food and beverage professional, who worked with Chris Cannon most notably at Convivio, his highly regarded Italian restaurant (closed in 2011). Most recently, he was GM at Boqueria, a group of tapas bars with locations in lower Manhattan, Washington, DC and Hong Kong. He lives in Jersey City.

Christopher James will be leaving his position as head bartender of the Ryland Inn in Whitehouse Station at the end of July and has accepted the position as head bartender at Jockey Hollow.

Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen will be located in the renovated 1917 Vail Mansion, and will feature modern American and Italian cuisine.

It will consist of…
–the Oyster and Wine Bar on the ground floor, with a casual, contemporary menu, no reservations required
–the Vail Bar, a glam 1920’s-style cocktail lounge
–the Rathskeller, a private event space
–and the Dining Room at Jockey Hollow, a fine-dining restaurant on the mansion’s second floor.
