FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12 AND SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
WESTIN CHEF AND WINE WEEKEND
Food and wine will be featured at the Westin Chef and Wine Weekend on September 12 and 13 at the Westin Governor Morris Hotel, 2 Whippany Road, Morristown to benefit the Community Food Bank of NJ.

On Friday September 12, a New Jersey Chefs Tableside Dinner will feature 15 New Jersey chefs creating a five-course menu with wine pairings for 10 guests. Chefs and guests will be matched at random. Chefs that will be in attendance include: Thomas Ciszak (Chakra), Ariane Duarte (CulinAriane), Bill Dorrler (Osteria Morini), Mark Farro (Uproot), John Greeley (Crystal Springs Resort), Bryan Gregg (Escape), Corey Heyer (The Bernards Inn), Paul Kapner (Community FoodBank), Marty Kester (Ninety Acres), Eric LeVine (Morris Tap & Grill), Craig Polignano (Ryland Inn), Scott Snyder (BoulevardFive72), Kevin Takafuji (Blue Morel) and Todd Villani (Terre a Terre). 6 PM; $200.

On Saturday, September 13 a three-course champagne lunch paired with Charles Heidsieck, Moet Chandon & Veuve Clicquot will be presented by chef Kevin Takafuji from Blue Morel. 1 PM; $89, excluding tax & gratuity.

Chef Kevin Takafuji will also present a five-course 100 Point Wine Dinner on Saturday featuring wines from Bordeaux, Rhone and California rated 100 points by Robert Parker and James Suckling. 7 PM; $590 excluding tax and gratuity.

CRAFT BEER TASTING

A Craft Beer Tasting featuring imported wheat beers will be held at the Ho-Ho-Kus Inn & Tavern, One East Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus. Schofferhoffer, wheat beer from Germany, Shine White Wing (Belgium), Boraks Double Wheat Beer (Belgium) and Benediktiner Weissbier (Germany) will be sampled along with complimentary bar bites. 6:30 PM; $20. TASTES OF THE SEA MENU AT NICHOLAS, MIDDLETOWN
Restaurant Nicholas, 160 Route 35 S, Middletown will host a six-course “Tastes of the Sea” dinner. 7 PM; $135; with wine pairings $185. Reservations: 732-345-9977.

BREWERY OMMEGANG BEER DINNER AT DAVID BURKE FROMAGERIE, RUMSON

A four-course, prix–fixe menu and beer pairings dinner will be held at David Burke Fromagerie, 26 Ridge Road, Rumson. 7 PM; $95. Reservations: 732-842-8088.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 31
SCANFEST

ScanFest, a celebration of Scandinavia (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) will be held at Vasa Park, Wolfe Rd, Budd Lake. Some participants in the Food Court include Bakiel’s Lithuanian Bakery, Elizabeth; Big Olaf Ice Cream, Hackettstown; Danish and More, Hershey, PA; Gorilla Catering, Hackettstown; Leske’s Bakery, Brooklyn; Paterson’s Rugbrod, Plainsboro; and Vernon Nordic House, Vernon. 10 AM to 6 PM; $14; seniors $13; children 12 and under free. WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 3
OUTSTANDING IN THE FIELD AT GREAT ROAD FARM, SKILLMAN

The 2014 North American Tour of Outstanding in the Field, whose mission is “to re-connect diners to the land and the origins of their food, and to honor the local farmers and food artisans who cultivate it” will be held at Great Road Farm, 1459 Great Road, Skillman, with guest chef Josh Thomsen of Agricola Eatery, in Princeton. Agricola was named one of the top restaurants in America by Gayot.com and was in the top 25 restaurants of 2014 listed by New Jersey Monthly.
