GRAND OPENING PARTY AT JOCKEY HOLLOW BAR & KITCHEN
On Thursday, September 18, a grand opening party will be held at Jockey Hollow Bar & Kitchen, 1917 Vail Mansion, 110 South St, Morristown, to benefit the Community Soup Kitchen and Outreach Center of Morristown. 6:30 PM; $50 cocktail reception; $350 cocktail reception and five-course wine pairing dinner hosted by Chris Cannon and executive chef Kevin Sippel, who will be joined by Alfred Portale (Gotham Bar & Grill); Ryan Hardy (Charlie Bird); Kevin Pemoulie (Thirty Acres); and Ben Nerenhausen, (Mistral).

SEPTEMBER 19 NATIONAL CHEESEBURGER DAY
Chef Siversen’s signature MP Burger was recently named #1 in The Village Voice’s "10 Best Things to Eat Right Now in Jersey City." Maritime Parc was named one of NYC’s top burger spots by The New York Post, for the restaurant’s hugely popular Thursday night Oyster, Burger and Beer Bash—for $20, diners enjoy a half-dozen oysters, choice of beef, scallop, salmon or pork burger, plus beer or wine, with a side of luscious duck-fat French fries. The MP Burger is on the menu every day, so it’s the perfect way to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day on September 19.

ANTHONY DAVID’S, HOBOKEN

Anthony Pino chef/owner of Anthony David’s, 953 Bloomfield St, Hoboken, will kickoff his regular Monday night Chef’s-Counter Tastings starting on Monday, Sept 22. There are 10 seats at the counter, where chef Anthony will personally prepare and serve a five-course meal; BYOB. On Sunday, September 21, Red Bank Flavour Food & Wine Walk will be held throughout Red Bank with participating restaurants offering food and wine tastings. OKTOBERFEST AT MOUNTAIN CREEK RESORT AND GRAND CASCADES LODGE

Oktoberfest will be celebrated at Mountain Creek Resort, 200 Route 94, Vernon with dozens of German beers, spit fire roasted whole animals, German sausages, live music and games for children. Special guest chef and author Francis Mallman, will be in attendance on September 20 signing his cookbook, “Mallmann on Fire.” He will also take part in a “Mallmann on Fire Dinner” in the Chef’s Garden at Grand Cascades Lodge featuring recipes from the book served family style and paired with wines from Bodega Garzon in Uruguay ($95 plus tax & gratuity, includes a pre-release copy of the book). The multi-course feast will be prepared by Crystal Springs’ Executive Chef John Greeley using the Chef’s Garden wood-fired grills, oven and smoker. Five wines will be paired with the menu including three from Bodega Garzon in Uruguay. The event will start with cocktails at 5 PM. Oktoberfest hours are Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Sunday from 11 AM to 6 PM. Admission is $7 per person (children 5 and under: free); food, drink and rides are priced separately.
