, a walking and guided food tour that highlights the best cuisine in Jersey City (where I grew up), posts on their web page: “Our goal is to provide both locals and non locals with a memorable gastronomic adventure, showcase local restaurant owners and chefs, and bring people together who have a love and passion for all things edible and delicious.” This company is run by Janis Borroto, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, who has a Cuban and Chinese background and Alessia Aron, a graduate from Rutgers and also a foodie. The following are some upcoming food events that you can sign up for: 9/13 and 9/ 20 Best of Downtown Jersey City Food Tour; 9/17 Hamilton Park Food Tour; and 9/29 New on Newark Food Tour. Eric LeVine is the executive chef at Paragon Tap & Table, opening September 10 at 77 Central Avenue, Clark (973-891-1776). He will also remain executive chef at Morris Tap & Grill in Randolph.

Michael Raeter and Brian Kaden are the chefs at Iron Street Grill, a casual restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch at the Streets of Chester Shopping Center, 270 Rt 206 S, Chester (908-955-7882); BYO. The restaurant is open Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM; Saturday 7 AM to 4 PM; and Sunday 10 AM to 2 PM.
