Ocean Pediatric Dental Associates is a full-service pediatric dental and orthodontic practice treating children of all ages and patients with special health-care needs. Drs. Akriti Gupta, Matthew Sones, and Elisa Velazquez, along with their associates Drs. Heather Albert, Justin Dinowitz, Miriam Furlong, Raha Ghafurian, and Victoria Roeder, offer a variety of treatment modalities for children with minimal to severe anxiety.

The doctors focus on treating each child as if they were their own, creating a safe, positive dental home and providing the highest-quality dental and orthodontic care, regardless of special health-care needs. They are also trained with a laser to treat lip- and tongue-ties to facilitate better infant oral health.

Dr. Gupta graduated from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) and completed her residency at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Sones graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine before completing residencies at Monmouth Medical Center and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. Dr. Velazquez graduated from and completed her residency and master of science degree in oral biology at RSDM. In addition to their work at Ocean Pediatric Dental Associates, Dr. Velazquez is on staff at Community Medical Center and Children’s Specialized Hospital and serves as the president for the New Jersey Academy of Pediatric Dentistry; and Dr. Sones is on staff at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and serves as the president of the Monmouth–Ocean County Dental Society.
