“Our goal is to save teeth when possible and replace teeth with dental implants when necessary,” says Dr. Wayne Aldredge. To do that, he uses the newest minimally invasive dental techniques to treat gum disease and place dental implants. Those include LANAP® laser surgery, the S.M.A.R.T.™ bone grafting technique, and Pinhole® gum grafting. “We try to keep things as comfortable as possible for patients,” he says.

A board-certified periodontist and past president of the American Academy of Periodontology, Dr. Aldredge and his associate Dr. Majorie Baptiste work to bring innovative procedures to patients and to emphasize how periodontal treatment can change lives. He regularly explains the basics of dental implants and periodontal disease and answers questions at his Dental Patient Education Center. He also educates colleagues, efforts that have included speaking on bone grafting for dental implant placements to the Japanese Society of Periodontology. Dr. Aldredge was honored to receive the 2019 Irwin W. Scopp Fellowship Award from the Northeastern Society of Periodontists, an organization for which he is a past president, and the Distinguished Service award in 2020 from the American Academy of Periodontology. His son Parker is currently studying at Rutgers to become a dentist.

A graduate of UMDNJ, Dr. Aldredge completed post-graduate training at SUNY–Stony Brook, where he is currently a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Implantology.

His initial experience as an Army dentist at West Point equipped Dr. Aldredge to understand the restorative side of dentistry. His individualized treatment and commitment to patient comfort have earned him the confidence and the trust of patients and
dentists alike.
