One of the most popular and highly-recognized stand-up comedians on the road today, D.L. Hughley, will be at The Music Box on Friday, June 19. D.L. has starred in his own sitcom, “The Hughley’s” which ran on both ABC and UPN and the hosted the second season of the popular “Def Comedy Jam” series on HBO. Hughley credits his initial appearance on “Def Comedy Jam” as one of his earliest breaks in the business. It was the hit movie “Original Kings of Comedy” that launched D.L. into superstardom. In 1999, comedians Bernie Mac, Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer joined Hughley on the national tour, which sold out most of the major concert arenas in cities across the country. D.L. has most recently played a major role on the Aaron Sorkin drama series for NBC, “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and on the comedy series, “Scrubs” as Turk’s brother. He was the host of the 2008 BET Awards.
