The Barron Arts Center has announced their upcoming dates for PoetsWednesday. All readings of featured poets begin at 8:00 pm. These readings are free and everyone is welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served and are generously furnished courtesy of Wegmans Food Market in Woodbridge.In addition, PoetsWednesday will be offering Poetry Workshops at 7-8 pm, to be followed by the scheduled PoetsWednesday readings. A nominal fee will be charged for this workshop. All forms of poetry and all levels of skill are welcome. The schedule is:November 11, 2009Edwin RomondEdwin Romond’s most recent book of poetry is Dream Teaching. His poems have been featured on NPR, in anthologies, college texts, and in journals such as The Sun, The Rockhurst Review, Tiferet, Barrow Street, Poet Lore, and many others. He has been awarded poetry fellowships from both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Arts Councils and, in 1993, a $20,000 prize from the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition to his poetry, he has also written the book, music, and lyrics for two musical plays, A Family Life and Robin Hood, both produced at New Jersey community theaters. His prose memoir, "The Ticket," appears in Tim Russert's book, Wisdom of Our Fathers. A native of Woodbridge, NJ, he now lives in Wind Gap, PA. December 9, 2009Matt BorkowskiMatt Borkowski is the author of Uptown-Down!, a book of selected poems.The Barron Arts Center has been hosting PoetsWednesday for 30 years. Poet Deborah LaVeglia heads the monthly readings and includes one or two featured readers followed by open readings. Meetings are for poets of all ages and the poetry can be open themes. The Barron Arts Center, listed on the national Register of Historic Places, recently celebrated its 130th Anniversary. With the support of the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission and under the direction of Cynthia Knight, the Barron Arts Center offers programming to the public free of charge.
