Hours: Sun–Thurs, noon–midnight; Friday and Saturday, noon–2 am.

Price: $$

Style: Swanky and hip, but families will feel welcome in its spacious dining room. The lively bar can get crowded, but that’s part of the fun. 709 is known as much for its signature cocktails as for its eclectic cuisine.

Don’t Miss:
The sushi bar is a draw. Start with a Route 35 Roll ($12.95): shrimp tempura, avocado and spicy tuna named for the road leading into this Shore town. The Adult Grilled Cheese ($10) is three-cheese awesome, featuring bacon, tomato, mozzarella, Swiss and Provolone. Filet mignon sliders ($15) come irresistibly topped with blue cheese and caramelized onions. Entrée categories are Swimming and Walking. Try sesame-crusted ahi tuna ($28) over vegetable noodles or the 16-ounce Cowboy ribeye ($34) with garlic mashed potatoes. Seasonal flavor-infused vodkas ($11) are popular, or sip a pumpkin martini ($11) made with gin, vodka and puréed pumpkin.

Heads Up:
Upstairs, the Living Room is an elegant space for private parties, complete with fireplace for the cold weather and expansive veranda for warm months.

The Scoop: In summer, prepare to wait an hour or more at peak dinner hours without a reservation. Off-season, just walk right in. Parking is plentiful, especially during the week.
