Style: Tucked around the corner of a strip mall, Delicious Heights has the feel of an upscale steakhouse, with dark wood floors and tables, stonework, and low lighting. There’s a stylish bar, twelve high-definition plasma TVs, outdoor seating in the warmer months, and a fireplace for when it gets chilly.
Don’t Miss: Start with barbecued Danish babyback ribs appetizer, a half rack, slow cooked and finished on the grill, served on a bed of sweet potato fries ($10) or the loaded potato skins with monterey jack cheese ($9). Cherry peppers and chunks of pepper jack cheese make the strip steak salad extra spicy; it’s also packed with portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, and tomatoes ($14). Pan-seared filet mignon scaloppine is topped with Danish bleu cheese and caramelized onions in a port wine reduction ($26). The bacon cheeseburger wrap is how it sounds, and more—ground sirloin, American cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and Russian dressing, in a whole-wheat tortilla served with fries ($9). The molten chocolate cake makes a mad closer ($7).
Heads Up: They don’t take reservations, so you’ll wait on weekend evenings, when the few dozen tables fill up quickly. It’s a family-friendly place, but parties are limited to eight.
The Scoop: The dark interior can seem oppressive at first, but it helps separate Delicious Heights from strip-mall blandness, and the bubbly servers brighten the place instantly.
Hours: Mon–Sat, 11 am–10 pm; Sun, noon–10 pm.
