Amalfi's Pizzeria and Restaurant

Reviewed by Emily Faherty

Style: Comfortable Italian restaurant and pizzeria with plenty of seating, a huge bar, banquet room, and outdoor tables.

Don’t Miss: Amalfi salad with spring mix, romaine lettuce, carrots, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, roasted peppers, olives, and fresh mozzarella dressed with the house balsamic vinaigrette ($7.95). Options include white pizza with broccoli, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese ($8.50 for a generous personal size); Brooklyn-style pie with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil ($16.95 for a large); and creative gourmet-style pies that range from baby shrimp, arugula, and shaved Parmesan cheese, to hot dog and french fry pizza ($15.95-$17.95). Panini such as the Panini classico—with prosciutto di Parma, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and roasted peppers with pesto dressing ($10.95)—are served with crisp homemade potato chips. The menu also features specialties of pasta, chicken, veal, and seafood, including the chicken Oscar sautéed in garlic and oil, fresh tomatoes, asparagus, prosciutto, and mozzarella cheese in a brandy cream sauce ($18.95).

Heads Up: The kids will marvel as the chefs toss pizza dough behind the open counter, while you unwind at the fully stocked bar. In July, the restaurant added an adjacent liquor store.

The Scoop: Family-owned and operated, Amalfi’s is a staple in Lawrenceville. This past year, it transitioned from a wedding-reception hot spot and popular banquet hall to a full-service restaurant, pizzeria, and bar, known for serving classic dishes from the Amalfi coast.

Price: $/$$ (Under $15 to $25)

Hours: Sun-Thurs, 10AM - 10PM; Fri-Sat, 10AM -11PM; bar hours vary
