Style: Seems everyone knows everyone at Charlie’s. At the Shore since 1944, this is one of those places, where if you live nearby, you meet up with friends regularly, and even if you don’t live nearby, you still feel welcome. It’s a classic hangout—a corner bar with 14 beers on tap and another 22 in the bottle.

Don’t Miss: Charlie’s is known for its wings, so start any meal with a plateful; a single order (13 pieces) is $6.50. Choose from four different sauces, including the fiery Top Gun. Even the pickiest eaters will find something at Charlie’s; the menu is extensive. There are lunch specials every day—a Workman’s Special, an Almost Healthy and a Chef’s Choice. Try a hearty meatball parm sub, served with onion rings ($5.99), the tuna salad BLT wrap ($5.99), or the filet tips cheesesteak ($8.99). For dinner, choose from a steak, seafood or pasta entrée. The prime rib Marie ($23.99) is a juicy center cut served over mashed potatoes and topped with jumbo lump crabmeat. Or have tuna or mahi mahi ($16.99) broiled, blackened or sautéed. Pasta à la vodka ($12.99) has bits of prosciutto and onion. If you’re not that hungry or the wings filled you up, there’s also a wide selection of sandwiches.

Heads Up: Charlie’s accepts cash only. But no worries, there’s an ATM in the front bar.
