Don’t Miss: This place is all about the ingredients. They use only certified organic, grass-fed, free-range beef. The Elevation burger ($5.99) is double meat and extra cheddar cheese, with the usual fixings, plus your choice of caramelized onions, balsamic mustard, hot pepper relish, and Elevation Sauce (a creamy, tangy tomato sauce). You can substitute a lettuce wrap for the bun. The fire-roasted veggie burger ($3.79) has an excellent, mildly smoky flavor and isn’t mushy or bland. The only non-burger entrée is the grilled cheese sandwich ($2.89), but you can be creative with it by adding any of the burger toppings. The french fries ($2.79) are cooked in olive oil, and are light and crisp. Mandarin oranges ($1.69) and side salads ($2.50) are also available. For dessert there are thick, creamy shakes and malts ($3.89). Choose from chocolate, vanilla, or coffee ice cream with your choice of crumbled Oreo cookies, chocolate syrup, guava, pineapple, banana, Key lime, and mango. There are also fresh-baked cookies ($1.59).

Heads Up: The modern decor—slate floor, well-spaced tables, comfortable wooden chairs—is much more inviting than most fast food eat-in spaces, but the high ceilings make for a bit of clatter.

The Scoop: Elevation Burger has locations along the East Coast; this is the first to open in New Jersey.
