Price: $

Style: Open-kitchen Middle Eastern takeout counter with a small number of tables and bare-bones but friendly Mediterranean café ambience.

Don’t Miss: Falafel is the main attraction, served as an appetizer (five pieces for $4.50), on a pita ($4.99), or with the house salad ($6.99). However ordered, the falafel balls are fresh and crispy, never oily. The pita sandwiches are stuffed with lettuce, shredded red cabbage, tomato, sliced pickles, and a nutty tahini sauce. Other pita sandwiches include light and silky hummus or baba ghanoush ($3.49), gyros and assorted meat kebabs ($5.99-$6.99), and the delicious, curry-seasoned chicken shawarma ($6.49). There are about a dozen special platters ($11.99-$24.99), mainly featuring an array of kebabs, including moist and nicely charred chicken or the spicy, ground-beef kafta. Platters are served with salad and fries or saffron rice. The menu lists a dozen salads, none more than $8.99. Can’t make up your mind? Go with the Jerusalem platter, a generous sampler of hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush, and falafel. For more American palates, the menu includes wraps and subs—even a Philly cheesesteak hero ($6.95).

Heads Up: This is mainly a takeout place (call ahead) but can accommodate about twenty diners at small tables that can be configured for parties of up to eight.

The Scoop: Dessert is not on the menu, but there are always fresh-baked treats to choose from on the counter.
