Style: Sports bar salted with nautical ambience, just minutes from the beach in the lively downtown area of this popular Shore destination. Several comfortable dining spaces separate the lunch and dinner crowd from the denizens of the central bar area.
Don’t Miss: Start by sharing an order of Super Skins—perfectly crisped potato skins stuffed with bits of real bacon and melted cheeses ($8.95). Among the salads, Frankie’s wedge of iceberg with tomatoes, red onions, and crumbled blue cheese is the best choice ($5.95). For entrées, keep it simple. The burgers are as good as burgers get, thick and delicious, with all the usual toppings ($6.95-$8.25). The chili dog is a big, fat, steaming bargain, mounded with chili ($5.95). Chicken pot pie is packed with chicken and veggies ($16.95). You won’t want to get more ambitious than that. The jumbo fried shrimp are passable ($19.95), but the rainbow trout special is dry and disappointing ($18.95).
Head’s Up: Perfect for an informal lunch after perusing the town’s nearby antique markets. Feel free to bring the family; Frankie’s kids’ menu features seven choices at $5.95.
