Limani Blue
115 Franklin Tpk, Mahwah
201-684-1200

Hours: Noon–10 pm; closed Mondays

Price: $$

Style: Blue-and-white-hued walls reminiscent of the Mediterranean complement an open kitchen. Limani, the Greek word for “port,” suits the bustling combination of clinking  glasses, conversation, and authentic cuisine.

Don’t Miss: Tzatziki, a refreshing yogurt, cucumber, and garlic dip served with pita triangles ($4.95). Chicken or pork souvlaki platter, a satisfying dish served with lettuce, tomato, onion, tzatziki, pita, and a choice of lemon potatoes, rice, or Greek fried potatoes ($12.95). Arni fricase, a perfectly seasoned traditional Greek specialty with chunks of lamb, Greek artichoke hearts, and dill in an egg lemon sauce ($16.95). Calamari sta karbouna, a charcoal-broiled calamari plate served with horta or tossed salad, vegetables of the day, and lemon potatoes ($13.95). Elliniki horiatiki, Limani’s take on the Greek salad, is served with tomatoes, red onions, feta cheese, green peppers, capers, olive oil, and vinegar ($9.95).

Heads Up: Limani does not take reservations and has limited seating, so call ahead to check wait time or arrive before the rush. It is a tight setting, so be prepared to dine with the table next to you.

The Scoop: Pre-dinner starters include warm pita slices served with fresh olives and olive oil. Limani is BYO; bring your favorite bottle of rodytis or fumé blanc to enhance the authentic Greek flavors.
