Sushi House Hibachi Grill
1339 Prince Rodgers Avenue, Bridgewater
908-252-9948

Hours: Lunch: Mon-Fri 11:30 AM-2:30 PM. Dinner: Mon-Thurs, 4:30-10 PM; Fri and Sat, 4:30-11 PM; Sun, 4-9:30 PM
Price: $$
Style: Emulating ancient Japanese style, the walls are adorned with paper fans and paintings of demure women wearing kimonos. The restaurant is divided into two sections, one serving sushi, the other hibachi. Colorful paper lanterns hang from the ceiling, and at the front is a large paper screen and wood and glass archway that resembles the entrance of a Japanese dojo.
Don't Miss: The sushi pizza ($8.95), a popular appetizer, is a must have. A small patty of crispy rice is topped with spicy mayo, slivers of fresh tuna and salmon, scallions, onions and tobiko--the Japanese word for cavier. The sashimi appetizer ($9.95) comes with nine pieces of sashimi to whet your appetite. Sushi House has many of the classic rolls, such as California ($4.95), Philly ($5.95) and Dragon ($10.95). Opt for one of the special rolls, like the Lobster Lover's roll ($13.95)--lobster tempura and cucumber topped with spicy lobster salad and red tobiko--if you're feeling adventurous. Hibachi dinner entrees include a house salad, clear soup, a shrimp appetizer, fried rice, noodles and vegetables, and range in price from $15.95 (for vegetable) to $31.95 (for lobster). If you're feeling particularly famished, go for a hibachi dinner combination, like the savory shrimp and filet mignon.
Heads Up: Sushi House offers a handful of desserts, including fried ice cream, banana tempura, regular and mochi ice cream. If that's not enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, venture across the street to the Cheesecake Factory at the Bridgewater Commons Mall, where the selection of cakes and treats is seemingly endless.
The Scoop: The restaurant boasts a selection of over 40 special rolls, though not all appear on the regular menu. Be sure to request the special rolls menu.
