Teaberry’s Tea Room

Teaberry’s
Tea Room
2 Main Street, Flemington
908-788-1010, teaberrys.com

Hours: Tues–Fri, 11 am–4 pm; Sat-Sun, 11 am–5 pm.

Price: $-$$

Style: Quaint, British-style, high-tea parlor, decorated in chintz and florals, in a former Victorian house on Main Street.

Don’t Miss: The afternoon tea menu. Milady’s Tea ($30) features a multicourse festival of sweet and savory finger foods—filling enough for two. Along with a pot of your tea of choice, there are scones with lemon curd, clotted cream and preserves, assorted tea sandwiches, sorbet and sweet, bite-sized desserts. If tea is not your cup, try the white hot chocolate ($4)—rich, creamy and just the right sweetness. Finger foods don’t suit your fancy? Teaberry’s has a full lunch menu. The chicken BLT ($14) is delicious, with warm balsamic-marinated chicken, avocado, bacon, greens, tomato and garlic aioli.

Heads Up: One Sunday a month, Teaberry’s hosts an adorable American Girl tea party. An entire dining room is arranged with fine china settings for girls and their dolls. The $35 per person charge covers food, crafts, favors, tax and gratuity.

The Scoop: Much to my delight, the clientele at Teaberry’s was as diverse as our state. There were couples on dates and even a group of punked-out girls sporting their afternoon tea dresses, without the white gloves.
