The Chatterbox (Ocean City)

Style: Comfort food just blocks from the Ocean City beach.

Don’t Miss: Stuffed Texas French Toast ($6.25 and $6.75), whether you add peaches to the sweet cream-cheese filling or not. Most sandwiches ($6.95) are available club style or as a wrap (the latter perfect for beach takeout). Sundaes, such as the classic hot fudge ($4.75), are home runs.

Heads Up: The Chatterbox is especially busy in summer. The food has something to do with it, but so do the prices and family friendliness. Avoid the crowds by ordering takeout—your food comes packaged so you can take it to the beach or the boardwalk, where the people watching is tops. Breakfast served any time except 5 to 9 pm.

The Scoop: The big pink building is hard to miss. It’s been an Ocean City institution since 1937.
