Style: Modern interpretation of the neighborhood tavern, with sleek finishes but old-fashioned friendly ambience. Big-screen TVs line the bar area; a backyard patio features 11 tables in the warmer months.

Don’t Miss: Nine versions of their Signature Spuds. Fries or tater tots come slathered in the toppings of your choice, from Vermont cheddar, bacon and ranch to white truffle oil and Parmesan ($3-$5). Starters include hummus with whole-wheat pita and veggies ($8); blackened Mahi Bites ($9) and generous platters of nachos with fresh-baked tortilla chips ($8). There are six dinner salads ($7-$11); each can be topped with chicken, shrimp or steak. Burgers are offered in 10 varieties, each served on a brioche bun with homemade slaw and pickles ($7-$9). Fish tacos are generously filled with beer-battered cod or grilled mahimahi ($13). Dinner specialties include chimichurri steak, a marinated skirt steak served with red-skinned mashed potatoes ($18); and BBQ smoked ribs ($16). The bar boasts 30 beers on tap, from basic Bud Light to a creatively curated selection of craft brews. For a stiffer drink, sample one of the six signature cocktails ($9-$10).

Heads Up: Daily specials include Kids’ Night every Monday, when a little one eats for free with the purchase of each adult entrée.

The Scoop: The Inn opened in 1947 in the basement of the founder’s home. Eventually, a dedicated building was constructed nearby. Owners John MacAvoy and Brian Mazzi moved the Inn to its shiny new site in April 2012.
