Japanese
Style: Contemporary, casual BYO with lively crowd. Wood-paneled walls, a massive fish tank, and minimalist lighting create a warm ambience.
Don’t Miss: Breaded and fried blue-crab claw appetizer, ($6.95) is tender and crisp. Warm, crunchy, salmon-skin salad with spicy house dressing ($6.95). Steamed Chilean sea bass with black bean sauce ($18.95). Sushi is à la carte or in one of the many combination entrées such as the Pretty Color Sushi, with three pieces each of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and eel ($22.95). A selection of oversized rolls include the Wasabi, with tuna, yellowtail, salmon, cucumber, and wasabi mayo ($12), which is spicy but not overwhelming. A changing menu of special rolls offers inventive additions. Zen bento boxes ($23.95) include shumai, tempura, sashimi, teriyaki (chicken, beef, salmon), and potato croquettes.
Heads Up: Weekends are very crowded, and even on weeknights there may be a long wait.
The Scoop: Call ahead for takeout.
