Bane Haunted House
October Weds-Sun
The only haunted house in New Jersey without animatronics—meaning a cast of live actors provides all the fright. Visitors are separated into groups and guided through 40 rooms of fear, where they must climb, crawl and push past packs of crazed clowns and flesh-eating zombies.

Schaefer’s Farm Fright Fest
October weekends
This excursion begins with a hair-raising, 45-minute hayride to the middle of nowhere. Abandoned, visitors must trek the trail of terror, outrun chainsaw-wielding zombies and ward off killer clowns.

Fright Fest at Six Flags

Visitors hankering for a fright are guaranteed their fix— thanks to seven haunted mazes and five scare zones. New this year: The Cyborg Cyber Spin coaster, a 7-story, antigravity thrill ride, will be retrofitted for an even spookier experience.

Red Mill Haunted Village

The journey begins inside an 1810 wool mill with three stories of twists and turns. Outside, a vintage tractor awaits to take you through the forest of fright. Eventually, you arrive at a dark maze, where more horror is to be had.

The Dark Carnival
October weekends
This modern-day freak show features its own take on classic attractions of the past. The showmen include Morbus, the Aquatic Fish Boy; Mongo, the Human Mutant; and Algano, the Amphibious Lizard Man.
