Seeds of Hope: 2017 Nominations Now Closed

New Jersey Monthly's annual program recognizes outstanding Garden State volunteers.

FINAL LOGO Hope

Nominations for the 2017 Garden State Seeds of Hope Awards are now closed. This year’s honorees will be announced and profiled in our September issue.

About Seeds of Hope
New Jersey is home to an amazing array of volunteers committed to bettering their communities and the lives of their neighbors. To honor those extraordinary individuals—from the super-achieving fund-raiser to the dedicated volunteer—New Jersey Monthly created the annual Seeds of Hope program.

Each year, supervisors, colleagues, and friends nominate individuals who spend their personal time working toward the greater good. Honorees are selected by our distinguished panel of judges, which changes from year to year and includes people with a deep understanding of volunteerism. The annual honorees are profiled in our September issue and formally recognized at a luncheon in the fall.

    Dear sirs,

I sent an inquiry a couple times to find out if your award is limited to individuals or can it be organizations. I have not gotten a reply and am asking again.

We are a garden club with about 75 active members who take care of over 100 garden beds in the city of Brigantine. These beds are located on city property and are funded by our fund raising and a small grant from the city. We have been doing this since 1986 and hope to continue as long as we can get enough money to do so. Most bed tenders receive an allotment of about $20.00 and usually put in any extra money they need out of their own pockets to ensure the city is a beautiful place to live and visit.

Please advise so I can let my members know. We have our monthly meetings the first Monday of each month from March to October.

    Peg Moore

Board of Director, Brigantine Garden Club
