578 Grill in Montclair Opens

This and other restaurant openings.

578 Grill, offering Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food, has opened at 578 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair (973-744-1301); BYO. There are four steps when ordering from the menu: pick your base, such as rice, salad, fries; select an entrée, such as chicken breast, shrimp, braised lamb; select up to two additions including tomato or pickled cabbage; and select a sauce such as yogurt, spicy red or tahini. Entree prices are under $10, but sides (hummus, falafel, green beans and more) are $2.95 each and up.

Center Tavern, formerly Bat Barry’s, has opened at 170 Center Avenue, Westwood (201-666-2200). Burgers, salads, sandwiches, pizza and entrees are a few of the menu items. A 10% discount is offered to all veterans and active military members. Open daily from 11:30 AM.


Eight & Sand Beer Co, an 80-seat brewery, has opened at 1003 North Evergreen Avenue, Woodbury. Open Thursday and Friday from 5 to 9 PM; Saturday from noon to 9 PM; and Sunday from noon to 7 PM; 856-537-1339.

Folklore Artisanal Mexican Eatery, a family-owned taqueria specializing in authentic tacos and more, has opened at 57 Harrison Avenue, West Orange (973-324-2208).

Kimchi Smoke Barbecue, 301 Center Avenue, Westwood (201-497-6333) has opened offering a Southern Korean menu.

Tenafly Coffee Company, 37 Highwood Avenue, Tenafly (201-493-1002).

Claude and Dolores Baills, owner of Chef’s Table in Franklin Lakes have sold their restaurant, which will be open through October 15. Flavien Trichery, the new owner, will close the restaurant for a short time for renovations.
