Around the Clock Diner, East Rutherford

In a nod to New Jersey’s status as the diner capital of the world, American Dream has welcomed Around the Clock Diner to its shopping and entertainment complex, which is already filled with diverse dining options. The eatery, billing itself as “a finer diner,” serves all-day breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, milkshakes (loaded with fresh donuts, if you wish!) and baked goods.  Make sure you try the French onion soup, the classic reuben, with pastrami and 1000 island dressing, and the tender, char-grilled pork chops. The restaurant has a full bar, so you can even add liquor to your milkshakes.

Pop’s Place, Somerville

The family behind Pop’s Place, which opened in February 2022, packed up their debut Somerville eatery this month to relocate to another nearby spot on Somerville’s Main Street. As of last week, the Italian breakfast and lunch joint is back to serving a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches and platters, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and coffee. It’s open for dine-in service or takeout, seven days a week.
