Ani Ramen House, which is located in Montclair will open their second location this fall at 218 Newark Avenue, Jersey City. Ani means “big brother” and this new “brother” location will feature their signature Japanese ramen noodle soups and other dishes such as pork buns, crispy gyoza and yakitori. Additionally, the Jersey City outpost will offer a full bar serving craft cocktails and sake. Lunch and dinner will be served daily and there will also be a secluded outdoor courtyard.
BUTCHER BLOCK BURGERS
Butcher Block Burgers has opened at 39 Elm Street, Westfield (908-317-2640). Chef C J Reycraft is also the owner of Amuse, which he opened in 2014. Amuse will be reopening with a liquor license at a yet-to-be-determined location.
Butcher Block Burgers will feature dishes for meat and fish eaters, as well as vegetarians. Menu items include a lamb burger with tzatziki sauce and feta cheese on an onion roll; duck burger patty with spiced mango mint compote and butter lettuce on a ciabatta roll; and Mangalitsa pork burger topped with melted smoked gouda, red onions and fiery creamy habanero mayo on a pretzel bun. The 6-ounce signature Butcher Block Burger is made with a dry-aged burger blend with caramelized onions, Gruyere and horseradish mayo on a brioche bun. A variety of sauces, toppings and cheeses are available for burgers to be customized. Sandwiches, sides and desserts and gluten-free options are also available. Open 11:30 AM to 9 PM daily; BYO.
