Episode 14: Scott Snyder on his Triathlons and Managing his Diabetes

The indefatigable chef/owner of Boulevard Five72 in Kenilworth says that bicycle racing and competing in Iron Man triathlons gives him the energy he needs to work those grueling hours at the restaurant.

The riders celebrate their arrival at Congress Hall in Cape May. From left: Mary Kate O'Donnell, Scott Snyder, Ken Schlager and Erin Herits. The foursome covered 135 miles over two days of riding the length of the Jersey Shore.

Scott Snyder says intense exercise also helps keep his diabetes under control and his head screwed on right. Another thing that keeps him sane is his kitchen staff, who have been with him since he opened Boulevard Five72 in 2008. He is giving them new challenges with the just-opened Boulevard Seafood and Conlin’s Bakery & Café in Somerville.
