Heading to the Jersey Shore this summer? You'll want to check out all these new places to eat and drink by the beach.

With warmer weather starting to set in, people are making their way back to the Jersey Shore.

Those who do will find plenty of new seaside offerings, including innovative entertainment, a variety of shops, and delicious dining options. New Jersey Monthly broke it all down in our in our guide to what’s new at the Shore for summer 2022.

Here, we look at all the Shore’s newest food and drink choices.

B2 Bistro + Bar, Bayville

What was previously Martell’s Water Edge opened in April as B2 Bistro + Bar’s fifth location in New Jersey. Seated on the edge of Barnegat Bay, the restaurant serves the same rustic B2 menu, with live music and panoramic water views.

Beach Bowls, North Wildwood

This family-owned-and-operated store opened in April as a new addition to North Wildwood. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, the eatery offers gluten-free and vegan options, açaí and fruit bowls, smoothies, wraps, coffee and more. You can take a quick walk over from the sand to eat, or Beach Bowls offers beach delivery.

Boat Drinks, North Cape May

This addition to Cape May Ferry Terminal—which itself is undergoing a big makeover—offers signature salads in glass jars, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts. For some added fun, the bartenders at Boat Drinks—which offers a view of the huge ferry boats coming into the harbor—ring a bell when boats are on their way in and run a $2 shot special as they dock.

Chomp!, Toms River

Joe-Joe’s Italian Hot Dog, a Toms River staple, closed during the pandemic. Chomp! took its place. The new spot opened in April and offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and Italian favorites. Chomp!’s menu also features the “Jo-Jo Dog,” paying homage to its predecessor.

Cousins Maine Lobster, Asbury Park

In 2012, two cousins appeared on Shark Tank looking to grow their lobster roll food truck. The Wednesday before Memorial Day weekend, New Jersey’s first brick-and- mortar location for Cousins Maine Lobster is opening in Asbury Park. Warm and chilled lobster rolls are set to be ont he menu, as well as an assortment of other crustaceous creations, including lobster grilled cheese, lobster tots and lobster tacos.

The Cove, Wildwood

Taking over what was previously the Deck at Holly Beach is a brand-new restaurant, bar and nightclub. The new spot includes live music and DJ nights, as well as an elevated menu with dishes including wonton tacos, crab bites, burgers, assorted cocktails and more.

The Dorset, Ventnor City

Set to open this May, this eatery is offering breakfast, lunch and other assorted “beach bites.” Located on North Dorset Avenue, you won’t miss this new spot, as it has a bright pink wall outside with its name—the perfect opportunity for an Instagram photoshoot. Lavazza Coffee is also being served.

The Goat by David Burke, Union Beach

Chef David Burke opened his seventh restaurant in the Garden State and his third in Monmouth County earlier this year. The Hazlet native’s new concept, the Goat, is a casual American bistro. The menu includes burgers, pizza, house-made pastas, seafood and dessert. The restaurant also has an extensive list of locally distilled spirits and craft beers.

Good Dog Bar, Atlantic City

This popular Philly bar is making its way to the Jersey Shore this summer. Owners Heather Gleason and Dave Garray say “the name came from their obsession with dogs,” and the new location is set to be decorated with black-and-white images of local dogs. The spot is also set to hold an annual dog contest, as they do in Philly. The restaurant’s menu is set to feature upscale pub fare and seafood. Not going to Atlantic City this summer? There are plenty other dog-friendly bars and restaurants in Jersey.

Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, Atlantic City

Gordon Ramsay is bringing Hell’s Kitchen to Atlantic City this summer. Located inside Caesars, the first East Coast location is set to open this August, with a menu full of Ramsay favorites and a setting that features design elements from the hit TV show. Hell’s Kitchen will replace the previous Dusk nightclub and Planet Hollywood.

Half Moon, Keansburg

Across from Raritan Bay in Keansburg, Half Moon is serving coastal comfort food, handcrafted cocktails and a catalog of locally brewed beers. The restaurant opened in March and is gearing up for its first summer, where it hopes to be a stepping stone in the revitalization of the Bayshore borough.

Heirloom Kitchen, Asbury Park

What was formerly the Tides Hotel is returning back to its roots, changing owners and going back to its original name: The Saint Laurent Social Club. Inside, Heirloom Kitchen, located in Old Bridge, is set to operate its second location. The menu will be headed by Heirloom’s Chef David Viana, who appeared on Bravo’s Top Chef in 2018.

Killer Pies, Asbury Park

Killer Pies sold out of pizzas at 7 pm on its opening day in April. At this joint, pizza can be bought by the slice for $3.50-$4.50 each. The restaurant also offers chopped salads and desserts, as well as a signature pie, the Killer Pie, topped with sauce, mozzarella, pecorino and fresh basil.

The Lookout, North Cape May

In March, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal opened the Lookout on the second floor. Exit Zero Hospitality recently took over the food and beverage operations of the terminal, and this was the first of three restaurant concepts to open. The Lookout will offer views of the Delaware Bay, as well as seafood, meat, plant-based dishes and hand-crafted cocktails.

Marvis Pancake House, North Wildwood

The owners of the Marvis Diner opened their newest venture in early April. Like its sister restaurant, the Marvis Pancake House is a seasonal restaurant and will be open full-time through October. The pancake house sits in the former Star Diner and offers French toast, eggs, waffles, and, of course, specialty pancakes.

McCoy’s Coffee & Cereal Bar, North Wildwood

A new breakfast spot is opening on New York Avenue this summer in North Wildwood. McCoy’s will serve up all kinds of coffee creations, a full cereal bar, bagels, cereal topped donuts, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and more.

Mutiny BBQ, Asbury Park

Husband-and-wife duo Martha and Thomas Dunphy introduced their new BBQ concept to Asbury Park in late 2021, so they’re gearing up for their first summer season in business. What started as a catering company in 2020 grew into a brick and mortar restaurant, with BBQ classics including brisket, St. Louis ribs, collard greens, cornbread casserole and more. In addition to indoor seating, guests can enjoy outdoor tables on the patio, shared with the restaurant’s in-house meat smoker.

Offshore BBQ, Seaside Heights

Hailing from its first location in Point Beach, Pitmaster Richie Cline opened his second Offshore BBQ location this year. Located on the Seaside Heights Boulevard, the eatery is serving up old-school BBQ, with dishes such as brisket, wings, pulled pork and more.

Pink Cadillac Diner, Wildwood

This 1950s-themed diner underwent a complete renovation and menu change for the upcoming summer. The diner will be under new management as well. Offerings include all-day breakfast, select Greek items, malts and more.
