Looking Ahead at Charlie’s of Bay Head

Charlie’s of Bay Head will be opening this summer at 72 Bridge Avenue, Bay Head, with executive chef Stephen T. Johnson, formerly with Trump Marina, Atlantic City. This newly constructed year-round restaurant has an outdoor deck with waterfront views of Twilight Lake. Dinner will be offered daily featuring a new American menu highlighting seasonal and local foods. The main dining area on the first level will seat 90 guests and include a large bar with 20 taps of handcrafted beers and big-screen TVs. A second level dining area is available for private events for up to 60 people and a state-of-the-art wine room has a private dining area for 24 guests.

The Grilled Cheese Shoppe, 113 Quimby Street, Westfield, has opened offering our favorite sandwich as well as salads, soups and sides (908-233-0070). Open Monday through Friday from 11 AM; Saturday and Sunday from 9 AM.

Gyros, falafel, hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanoush and Mediterranean salads are a few of the dishes offered at The Halal Guys, 621 Rt 18 S, East Brunswick (347-527-1505).

Hearth & Tap, an Irish steakhouse, has opened at 125 N Kinderkamack Road, Montvale (201-307-6300).

Jack Austin’s has replaced Masina Trattoria at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel, 500 Harvor Boulevard, Weehawken (201-348-4444). Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Mr. BBQ, an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant, has opened at 150 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs (201-816-9300).
