Chicken, beef gyro or falafel sandwiches and platters and chicken over rice will be on the menu when the Halal Guys Gyro and Chicken opens this fall at 72 Halsey Street in Newark. All ingredients are fresh, never frozen, including high-quality, responsibly sourced halal meats; marinated and seasoned overnight that are cooked on a grill. Sides include house-made hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel or fries; flaky baklava provides a sweet ending to any meal.

The Milford Oyster House, 92 Route 519 (Water Street) Milford (908-995-9411) has closed. The restaurant has been sold to Tom Kulnis and Rosie Tangtrakul who expect to reopen it as The Milford House in mid August.
