NYC Cookie Chain Adding Three Jersey Locations; Other Dining News

Plus: Morris County has two new Japanese restaurants, and Paramus is getting a popular Brazilian steakhouse.

Restaurant Openings:

Chip City, Newark & Hoboken

This award-winning NYC-based cookie concept is crossing the Hudson, opening on January 28 in Newark, in February in Hoboken and on a to-be-anounced date in Ridgewood. The Chip City menu rotates every week, though some core flavors, like chocolate chip and cookies and cream, are permanent fixtures. Rotating flavors include sweet potato s’mores, coffee crumb cake and blueberry cheesecake.

Kiori Kitchen, Morris Plains

This new restaurant features Japanese favorites such as okonomiyaki (savory pancakes), takoyaki (crispy octopus dumplings) and tempura. The menu also includes ramen, udon noodles, sushi, fried chicken and bento box specials for lunch and dinner.

Ju-Ichi Japanese Restaurant, Morristown

Ju-Ichi, which opened in late December, is connected to Tadashi, a Japanese restaurant in Pennsylvania. The menu includes dishes such as garlic hot-oil pork belly, kimchi beef, tuna tacos, curries and crispy tofu. Udon and ramen bowls include toppings like tempura, short rib and clams, but are only available for dine-in service.

Fogo de Chão, Paramus

This popular chain is coming to Garden State Plaza. Churrasco (Brazilian barbecue) options include steak, chicken, lamb, pork and more. Guests can also enjoy seafood and Brazilian sides such as farofa (yuca flour sautéed with bacon and sausage), fogo feijoada (traditional black bean stew over rice), caramelized bananas and more. The opening, originally slated for January 27, has been pushed back to February 17.
