From now through December, at Porta pizzeria in Asbury Park and Jersey City, you can pick up a Fraser fir tree while enjoying wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, wine and beer.
In Asbury Park, you get two Margherita pies, a carafe of wine or pitcher of beer and a 4-foot-tall tree for $40. Same package with a 5-foot-tall tree is $50; with a 7-foot-tall tree, $70.

At the Jersey City location, the same pizza and drinks package comes with a tree 2-to-4 feet tall tree for $40.
“We sell trees every day,” says Pierre Cruz, general manager in Asbury Park.
His location is famous for being the spot where, in the summer of 1971, Bruce Springsteen first met saxophonist Clarence Clemons, back when the bar was called the Student Prince.
In Jersey City, the rooftop bar of the three-story building will become a holiday forest. Both locations offer tree-packing and car-mounting service.

“At this time of year, the trees kind of bring life to the spaces and create that holiday feeling,” Cruz says.
“It’s an added bonus that we are able to provide to local people,” Cruz says of the package. But, he notes, “we do sell out.”
