No, not that kind of pet store. Pet Shop is a vegetarian restaurant and neighborhood bar, that used to be a pet store and has opened at 193 Newark Avenue, Jersey City (201-984-2170). Menu items include: roasted beet carpaccio; pulled-pork sandwich made with jackfruit; cauliflower steak sandwich; Pet Shop raw chow fun made with thin green and golden zucchini noodles topped with julienned red pepper, bean sprouts, scallions, raw cashews, crumbled tofu, cilantro and a sesame /soy/lime/rice vinegar dressing. Open Monday through Friday from 4 PM and Saturday and Sunday from noon.

Bobcat’s Texas BBQ, which is “bringing a taste of Texas to Ramsey” has opened at 112 East Main Street, Ramsey (201-962-9755).

Cinar Turkish Restaurant, 632 Bloomfield Avenue, West Caldwell (862-702-3861); BYO. There is also a branch of this restaurant in Cliffside Park.

A new coffee shop, Crazy Mocha, which also offers baked goods and sandwiches, has opened at 491 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair

Farmhouse Café & Eatery has opened their second location at 301 Center Avenue, Westwood offering breakfast, lunch and dinner (201-962-9755). There other location is in Cresskill.
