Fanny’s Italian Restaurant & Bar and Ladyfingers Bakery + Bar, Bloomfield

Fanny’s, which opened September 13, is now serving dishes that are authentically Italian and New Jerseyan at heart. Sister bakery Ladyfingers—slated to open September 25—will feature a menu of desserts (including custom cakes), wines and cocktails. This dining duo is the latest project from the team at the Brookdale, famous for their record-setting mozzarella stick.

A new coffee shop has come to Linden. Located inside luxury apartment complex Citizen Linden, the shop is serving up tea, coffee and espresso-based drinks, as well as a variety of breakfast options.

Soma, Fort Lee

Soma, a Japanese restaurant in Fort Lee, has shuttered. It served authentic Japanese cuisine since May 2022.

Kohler’s Bakery, Avalon

Kohler’s Bakery, a beloved Avalon mainstay, has officially closed. Known for serving pastries, donuts, cookies and breads, it was a community favorite since 1949.

Bischoff’s Ice Cream, Teaneck

Bischoff’s Ice Cream has closed its doors after 89 years of serving frozen treats and lunch specials to the Teaneck community. The shop had previously closed in 2022 and reopened this year as a pop-up; the latest decision to close, however, is permanent.
