Lincroft’s New Coffee Shop Offers a Taste of Home

Almost Home General • Lincroft

Almost Home General, a coffee shop using locally sourced and organic ingredients, opened its doors in mid-March. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Inside, there’s a book exchange library where patrons can take and donate books. Breakfast and lunch menus feature Biscuits and Gravy, the Hot Biscuit Sandwich (sausage, egg, cheddar and honey), the Mezze Bowl (hummus, feta and marinated tomatoes served with pita chips) and more. Almost Home also offers a new “cereal latte” every week, so far inspired by Reese’s Puffs, Cookie Crisps and Fruity Pebbles. BK Lobster • Hoboken

This Brooklyn-based restaurant opened its first New Jersey location on May 7. The menu is packed with dishes like Lobster Mac & Cheese, a Lobster BLT, the Flatbush Roll (lobster in a spicy, house-made jerk sauce) and Fried Lobster with seasoned fries. Other offerings include Salmon Cakes, Snow Crab Legs, Smoked Salmon Rolls and delicate Fried Shrimp. Open daily at 11 am.

Wanda BYOB • Haddonfield

This South Jersey BYO eatery specializes in “progressive American cuisine.” Highlights from the brunch menu include Baked French Toast Casserole with sweet ricotta and blueberry compote, Eggs Wanda (poached eggs with grilled filet mignonette, spinach and sauce foyot) and Chicken and Waffles with maple-bacon jam and Cluckwerks chicken. For dinner, enjoy Chilean Sea Bass with crispy purple potato, a Tuna Tower layered with wasabi tobiko, avocado and créme fraiche, Pork Tenderloin “Mignon” in Marsala sauce and more. Open for brunch Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 am–2:30 pm and for dinner Wednesday to Sunday, 5–10 pm.

Liberty Wine & Deli Coffee Shop • Jersey City

This popular liquor and wine spot is set to add a small café to their storefront in the next couple of months. The café will serve locally sourced and organic items, including pastries from Balthazar Bakery, organic teas and coffee drinks. Outdoor seating will be available.
