Andre’s, a fine dining restaurant, has opened at112 Tomahawk Trail, Sparta (973-726-6000), in the space that was originally Zoe’s By The Lake; BYO. Chef/owner Andre de Waal, opened Andre’s in Newton in 1998 and then renamed it Dre’s in the spring of 2014. Dre’s closed this month. Items on the opening menu include pork belly with braised fresh noodles, pickled vegetables and soft egg; sparrows broth with bacon dashi and foie gras; pan-roasted duck with stone fruits, mixed greens and long pepper; and fried whole bronzino with steamed dumplings and pickled vegetables for two.

Alen’s Deli and Catering has opened at 246 Mountain Avenue, Springfield (973-564-7500). The diverse menu has original recipes, including homemade soups, deli sandwiches, omelets, salad bar, specialized paninis, burgers, wraps, bagels and entrees, such as eggplant Parmesan, teriyaki chicken and flounder Francese. Bamboo Wok, an Indian Chinese restaurant, has opened at 170 Talmadge Road, Edison (732-662-9197).

Green Pear Café, a coffee shop that offers snacks, juices, pastries and salads, as well as retail items, has opened at 93 Garden Street, Hoboken (201-659-0940).
The Marina at Oceanport has opened on the grounds of Fort Monmouth, 10 Riverside Avenue, Oceanport (848-456-4396). Docking facilities available.
P J Sweeney’s Restaurant & Irish Pub, 447 Brick Boulevard, Brick (732-202-6414). The restaurant offers a lunch, dinner and late-night menu.
Artisan Ales and pizza made in a 900-degree wood-burning oven are offered at The Plank Pizza Co, 383 Market Street, Bldg D, Saddle Brook (201-843-2426) Open daily.
Home Sports Bar, which is near the Red Bull Arena, has opened at 701 Frank E. Rodgers Boulevard, Harrison (973-481-4663).
Seed To Sprout, a vegetarian and vegan restaurant, which also offers cooking classes, has opened at 560 A River Road, Fair Haven (732-268-7533). The restaurant is open for brunch and lunch and has a three-course dinner every Thursday from 6 to 9 PM for $25. Closed Monday.
Thatcher McGee’s Irish Pub & Eatery, 31 Passaic Avenue, Fairfield (973-227-4938). Menu items include: pizzas, salads, sandwiches; prime rib and traditional Irish fare such as Shepherd’s Pie; Bangers & Mash; Galway Style Fish & Chips; Guinness Beef Stew and more.
