Closings:

Nabisco Plant, Fair Lawn

The days of smelling fresh-baked cookies on Route 208 will come to an end in late summer. After making famous products like Oreos and Teddy Grahams for over 63 years, the Nabisco plant will close its doors this year. Mondelez International (Nabisco’s parent company) announced the news, stating the Fair Lawn production will move to another one of their many factories in the U.S. This closure will leave almost 600 people without jobs, adding to the drastic unemployment rates we’ve seen in the past year.
