MARTIN SCHAUB
Martin Schaub is the new chef at Pilsener Haus & Biergarten, 1422 Grand Street, Hoboken (201-683-5465). Chef Schaub grew up in a farming family near Basel, Switzerland and after apprenticing in kitchens in the Swiss Alps came to the United States. He has worked at La Grenouille, The Odeon, The Breslin in New York and Ali Oli of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also currently teaches at the Culinary Arts at the NYC College of Technology.

JOHN J. SHIRLEY
John J. Shirley has been named executive chef for The Heldrich Hotel, which includes Christopher’s, the restaurant in the hotel which offers all-day dining. Chef Shirley was previously executive chef for the Hilton at Penn’s Landing in Center City Philadelphia and the Chauncey Conference Center in Princeton, as well as being the executive sous chef for the Terrace Restaurant at Short Hills Hotel in Short Hills. He is a member of the Société Culinaire Philanthropique of New York and the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs of New York and has been an invited chef to the James Beard House, NYC, four times. A new menu is expected to be in place January, 2016.

ANTON TESTINO
Anton Testino is the chef/owner of Axton’s—named after his son—which has opened at 437 Ringwood Avenue, Pompton Lakes (973-831-0037); BYO.

GREG VASSOS
Greg Vassos, a graduate of Johnson & Wales, is the executive chef at Brick Farm Tavern, 518 Hopewell/Amwell Road, Hopewell (609-333-9200); BYO. Vassos has previously worked at The Breakers in Palm Beach and in the kitchens of internationally renowned chefs, including Sergi Arola of Barcelona and Eric Ripert, for whom he was sous chef at Le Bernardin.

CHEF TODD VILLANI MARRIES
Congratulations to Todd Villani owner of Terre a Terre, 312 Hackensack Street, Carlstadt, on his marriage to Beth Diss on November 1.
