On Friday, August 14, watch the culinary classic movie Big Night at a private screening at the Heldrich in New Brunswick, followed by dinner at Catherine Lombardi, 3 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick. The following menu will be served:

Trio of Traditional Risotto
Timpano Stage Left Style
Mixed family-style feast of roasted organic chicken, whole-roasted branzino, roasted suckling pig, zucchini flowers, roasted garlic with broccoli rabe and garlic bread.

LOBSTER PALOOZA AT GLADSTONE TAVERN, GLADSTONE
Lobster Palooza, with a specially priced lobster menu, will be celebrated from August 12 to August 18 at the Gladstone Tavern, 273 Main Street, Gladstone. Corny Cork week with a locally farmed corn menu will be held August 19 to August 25. Reservations: 908-234-9055.

ITALY’S FINEST BREWERIES DINNER AT ESCAPE, MONTCLAIR
Amanti Vino in Montclair will be hosting an Italy’s Finest Breweries dinner at Escape, 345 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair. This event will feature the suds from Birrificio Maeilla, Birrificio Rurale, and Retorto Birrificio Artigianale, along with a menu prepared by executive chef Bryan Gregg. 7 to 10 PM; price approximately $78 per person ($48 per person for food, plus gratuity & $30 for beer, per person). TEQUILA & TACO TASTING

A TASTE OF PLACE
A Taste of Place with proceeds donated to Suppers Program and Princeton Nurseries Lands will be held at Eno Terra, 4484 Route 27, Kingston. Admission includes grilled items with seasonal side dishes, antipasti, dessert, and two drink tickets for beer or wine. 2 to 6 PM; $49; minors 20 to 7 years old, $15; children under 6 free. FORAGING AND DINING EVENT AT CRYSTAL SPRINGS
Crystal Springs Resort, 1 Wild Turkey Way, Hamburg, will have a farm and foraging event followed by an evening in The Chef’s Garden, which will include a cocktail hour, canapés and the following four-course dinner prepared by executive chef Anthony Bucco: Chanterelles/ NJ Corn / Basil; Lubina/ Plankton / Purslane; Mangalitsa Pig/ Wood Sorrel / Stone Fruit; and Chocolate/ Anise Hyssop / Wine Berries.   1. Glaze Artisan Donuts

    Kimchi Smoke BBQ, the award-winning BBQ brand from Bergen County resident Robert Cho, is back in NJ for a pop-up event this Thursday, August 13th and Friday, August 14th with a special visit to Glaze Donuts in New Milford (358 River Road). Cho crafts traditional smoked Southern BBQ and combines them with flavors of his Korean heritage.

    The pop-up will run concurrent to regular operations at Glaze – the usual selection of donuts, coffee and more will be available – with customers able to order from the Kimchi Smoke or Glaze menus. The pop-up will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm on August 13th and again from 5:00pm-10:00pm on August 14th.
