To celebrate autumn, towns and cities all over the state are holding festivals, block parties and wine dinners—plus a bacon and beer celebration. Here are some standouts that are coming up.

Bacon and Beer Classic (Jersey City)

In the past, the Bacon and Beer Classic has provided samples of tasty bacon-themed treats, but this year the event will serve full entrees. Options include Pork Belly Banh Mi and Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes, with plenty of bacon from Holmdel Black Label. More than 50 craft beers will be available to sample, and guests can take home their tasting glass.
October 9, $65 and up. Various sessions throughout the day. Bacon and Beer Classic, 107 Morgan St. (The Lot), Jersey City

Ocean City’s Fall Block Party

More than 40 crafters and food vendors will attend. At the end of the day, a fireworks spectacular will be held from 6th Street to 14th Street. The fireworks will launch near the Music Pier at 9 p.m., and can be best viewed on the beach and boardwalk.

10th Annual Fall Festival (Berlin)

Berlin will embrace fall with activities, music and more. These include food vendors, a beer garden, a vintage car show, pumpkins and face painting. The annual dog costume parade, Mutt Strut, will take place at the festival.

The Bergen Wine & Food Experience, River Vale

Edgewood Country Club is welcoming guests 21 and up to attend a food and wine experience. The night will include samplings of fine wines, spirits, craft beers and specialty cocktails as well as cuisine from local restaurants and caterers. Guests can learn what kind of wine pairs best with particular dishes and how some liquors are made.
