One of New Jersey’s most devoted-to-local-foods organizations, the Foodshed Alliance, is holding its annual gala Sunday, April 29 at the Inn at Millrace Pond, 313 Hope-Johnsonburg Road in Hope.
Starting with a VIP reception at 4 pm and continuing with the gala from 5 to 8 pm, the Northwest New Jersey-based Foodshed Alliance will put local foods, local farms and local heroes in the spotlight.
Ten dining stations will offer foods from area restaurants. These include:
Kirk Avondoglio, Perona Farms; Mike Carrino, Pig & Prince; Jennifer DeChristopher, Silver Birch Kitchen; Andre de Waal, Andre’s Lakeside Dining; Jessica Geanoules, Silver Birch Kitchen; Michael Glatz, Bar Louis at Hotel Fauchere; Brandon Grimila, 403 Broad; Jesse Jones, Chef Jesse LIVE!; George Mandakas. Boro Hotel; and Stefan Sabo, Inn at Millrace Pond.
Farms and local food sources contributing to the gala include: Bobolink Dairy; Castle Mill; Fossil Farms; Harvest Drop; Kittatinny Mountain Farm
LL Pittenger; Local 130 Seafood; Race Farm; Shore Catch; and Valley Fall Farm.
Local Hero awards include Person of the Year: Marty Epstein, Marty’s Reliable Cycle; Farmer of the Year: Roman Osadca, Valley View Farm; Partner of the Year: Laura Szwak: New Jersey Conservation Foundation; and Alliance Volunteer of the Year: Patt Reid.
Tickets to the gala and the VIP reception are $150 per person; tickets to the gala alone are $100 per person. A silent auction will take place during the event.
