Laurel & Sage, Named for Chef’s Children, Opens in Montclair

Laurel & Sage are the names of chef/owner Shawn Paul Dalziel’s children and now his new restaurant.

Located in the space that was previously CulinAriane at 33 Walnut Street, Montclair (973-783-1133), Laurel & Sage offers a modern American, globally inspired, seasonal and locally sourced menu. Along with daily specials, menu items include: black kale & sprout salad; crispy-warm Camembert wheel; demi-braised lamb shank; ginger-soy lacquered Chilean sea bass; and cast-iron seared Long Island. Laurel & Sage is currently open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, with plans to open for lunch and brunch on weekends soon.

OTHER OPENINGS

Blaze Pizza, has opened at Willowbrook Mall, Wayne. They offer pizzas—with made-from-scratch dough that is cooked in 180 seconds—salads, drinks and desserts. There is a location in Paramus and one coming soon to Clark.

Pizza, garlic knots, zeppolis, pizza rolls are the few items available at Cono’s Pizza Village, 411 Mercer Street, Hightstown (609-448-0962); BYO.

Eat.Pizza, featuring Neapolitan pizza, has opened at 1888 Marlton Pike E, Cherry Hill (856-424-2020); BYO.

Food Avenue, a deli, has opened at 109 North Washington Avenue, Bergenfield. (201-771-7333).

Glaze Donuts, serving handcrafted donuts, beignets and crepes including traditional varieties and their signature artisan varieties such as cannoli filled with cannoli cream and topped with crumbled cannoli shell pieces and powdered sugar; maple bacon; and German chocolate cake is now open 123 East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood (201-445-4309).

Offering a farm-to-table menu, Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar has opened at 400 Rt 28, Moorestown Mall, Moorestown (856-581-0044). The menu is unique in that it offers dishes that are 500 calories or less, and changes four times a year. The restaurant works with 75 local farmers to source the freshest and highest quality products available and has four other locations in Pennsylvania.
